Building Safety Team

We have introduced a new building safety team to drive a robust safety regime for our buildings and Barnet Homes/Opendoor Homes residents.

Who we are:

Edna Badgie– Building Safety Manager

Eric Jonas – Building Safety Manager

Angel McLennan – Building Safety Resident Engagement Manager

What we do:

Manage and maintain fire and building safety cases for High Risk Residential Buildings (HRRBs), which includes programmed works within HRRBS. Review and undertake fire risk assessments and associated actions within HRRBs. Keep abreast of regulatory changes in relation to fire and building safety and report mandatory occurrences to the Building Safety Regulator. Ensure the business is prepared to fulfil new statutory duties. Maintain and operate information systems to facilitate the safe management of our buildings.

Maintain building safety information in line with the principles of Golden Thread and share knowledge with key stakeholders. Share building safety related information and provide training to the wider organisation. Support residents to be safe and feel safe in their homes. Resident engagement and providing a platform for their fire and building safety concerns to be heard and actioned, as well as appropriate information sharing where we engage, involve and influence.
