Tenancy consultation

Barnet Council is proposing changes to its tenancy agreement under the Housing Act 1985 Section 102/3 from July 2012.

These changes mainly apply to new tenants, with the proposed introduction of flexible tenancies rather than tenancies for life.

Current rights for existing secure tenants are fully protected in law and have not been changed. The only exception is discretionary succession to a tenancy and some other minor changes to the agreement.
