If your current home no longer suits your needs, you can apply for a transfer to another home.

You need to fill in a transfer form, which you can get by phoning Customer Services. Once you have applied, we will give you a number of points using Barnet Council’s points scheme.

Points show who is in most need and are awarded for:

• overcrowding 
• wanting a smaller home 
• if you have a serious medical problem, which is made much worse by your home or makes your home totally unsuitable.

We will only award medical points if a medical specialist agrees that moving will improve your medical condition or your ability to cope.

You must then use your points to find a new home. Every week, Barnet Council advertises all its empty homes in the local edition of The Press newspaper and on the Home Connections website.

If you are interested in a home, you must use your points to bid for it over the phone or online. The bidders with the most points will be invited to look at the property. You will not be rehoused if you do not have a clear rent account.
