Independent board member, Sharon Slotnick, was elected to the board in December 2005, having lived in Barnet for over eight years. With a background in legal advocacy and community organising, Sharon sees her priorities as raising standards and increasing resources, and believes directors must build on what is good and effective and improve on what is not working in the housing and communities we serve.



Yetunde Onifade

Yetunde Onifade has served with Barnet Homes since its shadow board was created and seen it grow from strength to strength.  Having worked in the charity sector since 1994 she is a deputy chief executive of a mental health charity and her experience ensures Barnet Homes does not forget vulnerable or excluded groups.  Married with two children, she says her long term involvement with her church originally inspired her to get involved in the housing sector. She brings practical experience in housing, leadership, people management and business development to Barnet Homes.  Yetunde says her priorities are ensuring Barnet Homes delivers on improved housing and that staff feel this is a great place to work.



John Macfarlane

An ex resident of Barnet who now lives just over the border. Has previously been chair of Penta, a local housing association in Barnet (now part of Adepta). Has worked in housing for over 25 years, for organisations who have strong links with the borough, he brings his experience in IT, Development and Regeneration, and Customer Services to the board. He wants to ensure customers of Barnet Homes can influence and are satisfied with the services they receive.



Angela Spooner

Angela is married with two children. She has worked in the housing field for 26 years. She is currently employed by a neighbouring Borough as a District Housing Manager, she brings with her a wealth of Housing Management experience and is looking forward to working with the board and staff to ensure continuous  improvement in the services provided to residents. 



Jane Nelson

Jane Nelson was until recently Managing Director and Chairman of one of the largest building maintenance businesses in London and the south.  She retains a passion that others should benefit, as she has, from training in the maintenance sector and the rewards that working in the construction industry can bring.  Jane’s contribution to the industry was acknowledged in 2007 when she won the inaugural Inspire Award of ‘Inspirational Leader in Construction’. She now runs her own building maintenance consultancy business and is an associate of the Construction Youth Trust. Jane brings a strong business background to the Board, along with a desire to see Barnet Homes support residents and youngsters gain access to training and jobs in the construction field.
